The image in the header is a section from Paula Sher’s The World (1998), as printed in You are Here: Personal Geographies and other Maps of the Imagination, by Katherine Harmon. She writes:

“In her 2002 book, Make it Bigger, graphic designer Paula Scher explains that she began painting small opinionated maps in the 1990s. Over time they grew larger and more obsessive.
